Our Staff at Clayfield Vet
Meet our team of dedicated veterinarians, nurses and support staff at Clayfield Vet.
Dr Lawrence Cahill
B.Sc (agr), MSc
Lawrence graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Canada. He has a broad experience within veterinary medicine that includes working with species as diverse as Heliconia butterflies to Indian elephants, in both rural and urban settings. His main veterinary interests are small animal internal medicine and nutrition. After working in several countries around the world he has settled in Brisbane. He joined Clayfield Veterinary Clinic in 2003 and became AQIS accredited shortly thereafter.
Outside of work he likes to hang out with his dogs, cats and family in Brisbane and Spain. Does anybody know where his accent is from?
Ashleigh
Veterinary Nurse
Ashleigh has recently graduated from UQ with her Bachelor of Veterinary Technology. Her special interests are helping with anaesthesia and radiology. When she is not at work, she spends her time managing her Zoo at home.
She has two beautiful husky mixes, “Maia” and “Beau”, a cat called “Minty” and an Albino Darwin Carpet Python called “Mi Goreng Noodles”.
Carla
Veterinary Nurse
Carla graduated as a veterinarian in Mexico from the Autonomous University of Yucatan in 2017. She moved to Australia in January 2022 to follow her partner. She will be starting to undergo the long process of trying to achieve her Australian Veterinarian Examination to practice as a Vet in Australia. In the meantime, she will be working with us here at Clayfield Vet Clinic as our newest veterinary nurse!
In her spare time, she enjoys reading and taking her dog Eddie for walks.
Kit
Veterinary Nurse
Kit has just recently finished her studies in Certificate IV in Vet Nursing. She has always had a passion for all animals since she was young, enjoying horse riding and spending time at a family friends’ farm out past Toowoomba.
In her spare time she loves reading, spending time with her family dogs (Millie and Maisie) and taking care of her 3 noisy budgies (Bert, Neptune and Tequila).
Tammy
Tammy graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology from UQ in 2021. Soon after her graduation, she enjoyed a long-awaited family reunion in Hong Kong. Whilst there, she gained some vet nursing experience in a local animal hospital. Returning to Queensland late 2022, she joined the staff of Clayfield Vet with the aim of improving her skills and knowledge.
She and her partner have 3 cats (Snowball, Snuffle, Charcoal) at home. At her leisure, she loves to spend time with her cats and hitting the gym with her partner. Outside clinic, she enjoys baking, drawing, playing guitar, watching movies / anime, and gaming.
Boss
Boss came to us as a part of our kitten rescue program and liked it so much, he decided to stay. He has reorganised the clinic to suit his needs, has a particular affection for the surgery heating mats and loves to curl up in any in-tray he can find.
